Brief Bio

Parvez Ahammad is currently a Bioinformatics Research Specialist in Dr. Eugene Myers' group at Janelia Farm Research Campus (Howard Hughes Medical Institute) after spending an year as a postdoctoral research fellow. He received his Ph.D. in May 2008 from EECS department at UC-Berkeley. Prior to that, he received Masters in Computer Science from UC-Berkeley, Masters in Electrical Engineering from University of Central Florida and Bachelors in Engineering (Electronics and Communication) with distinction from Osmania University, India. His research interests are in signal processing, computer vision and statistical learning with specific emphasis on applications related to high-throughput biology, computational neuroscience and networks of cameras.
